Ted Dekker/Frank Peretti’s HOUSE In Theatres!

House by Peretti and Dekker

INCREDIBLE! I can’t believe I didn’t know about this sooner, but Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker’s “HOUSE” book has been made into an incredibly scary “R-Rated” movie.

And talk about a scary movie trailer! (which I don’t recommend for children.)

Anyway, even though I won’t be seeing it myself due to content, this movie has a chance of impacting our culture big time by drawing in an audience that rarely finds itself in a church.

As I quoted Ted Dekker saying in my previous blog post:

My desire is to write only that which screams the truth in a world that once screamed it with me, then began to speak it, then to just whisper it, then settled for a gentle nod of agreement, and has now become silent about that truth. Soon I fear they will turn against the truth.

For now I feel I must continue to scream.

And this movie not only SCREAMS TRUTH, it will have YOU screaming.

I don’t want to give any plot away, but this movie speaks in a fresh way the seriousness of sin before a Holy God.

Oh, and by the way, it is opening in theatres EVERYWHERE tomorrow, November 7th, 2008.

  1. 10/10 for House the Movie!!!

I’ve seen it and I loved it! You’ve gotta see this one guys!

    Just to give you a hint about the film itself, I would like to comment about some of the details;

The film doesn’t have gore, sexually-explicit scenes or even nudity but definitely creepy! But the thing that’ll keep your lights on during the nights after you watch it is the STORY itself. Very, very intense! And the casting, Michael Madsen is such a bad—! Pretty effective as well as Leslie Easterbrook and Bill Moseley! The film is unpredictable guys (well, unless you’ve read the book) avoiding cliches.

All in all, a highly recommended movie folks! Check out their official website, http://housethemovie.net for the list of theaters where House is playing!

    Cool post Robert! :)

  2. i loved this book!! i’m 15 though, and im
    really dissapointed that the movie’s
    r-rated. :**: |-| i guess i’ll survive

no i wont. i need to see this movie!!!

  3. xxlizzixx,

If you can get your parents to either take you or purchase the movie, then you can definitely see it. As a scary movie, a parent would have to take into account that its purpose is to scare you in a GOOD way … to encourage people to take their sin seriously and understand the atonement of Jesus in a fresh new way.

    Thanks for stopping by!
