Book 1’s Progress Report:<\/strong> I am now at 47%. I was at 48%, but I backtracked because I rewrote my prologue and cut out about 4 pages. Now its only 2.5 pages long! I got rid of the fluff and I can fit some of the background material in later in the book. It’s a much stronger beginning to the novel. I became convinced of my need to do this when I realized that my first chapter grabbed the reader in the first 500 words, but the prologue did not. I’ve gotten it down to under 700 words. I don’t think I can cut it further, but I wish I could get to that 500 word mark!<\/p>\n
