{"id":6375,"date":"2007-10-28T16:05:58","date_gmt":"2007-10-28T21:05:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epictales.org\/treskillard\/2007\/10\/28\/making_the_reader_thirst_part_2\/"},"modified":"2007-10-28T16:05:58","modified_gmt":"2007-10-28T21:05:58","slug":"making_the_reader_thirst_part_2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.epictales.org\/treskillard\/2007\/10\/28\/making_the_reader_thirst_part_2\/","title":{"rendered":"Making the Reader THIRST! &#8211; Part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>To commemorate my 50% milestone<\/strong> (be it ever so elusive), I am including the &#8220;graph&#8221; of my book using my THIRST&trade; methodology, which stands for:<\/p>\n<p>T &#8211; Tension<br \/>\nH &#8211; Humor<br \/>\nI &#8211; Incident<br \/>\nR &#8211; Romance<br \/>\nS &#8211; Suspense<br \/>\nT &#8211; Terror\/Fear<\/p>\n<p><strong>I have my plot in a spreadsheet<\/strong> with one row per scene and put numbers to all these values.  All of them are between 1 and 10 (only allowed over that for special cases).  <\/p>\n<p>Suspense is handled a little bit different by a plus number and a minus number.  This is because it builds as the story progresses and doesn&#8217;t go down until you answer nagging questions or the main character solves a long standing problems.
