No, we’re not going to the writing conference at Mt. Hermon<\/a><\/strong>, as much as I tried to figure out how to get there (what a beautiful setting). In the end, I had to admit that it was too tight of timing for me to finish up my book by mid-March to have it ready for critiquing and presenting.<\/p>\n

So where to?<\/strong> We are happily planning to attend, Lord willing, the American Christian Fiction Writers’ Annual Conference<\/a><\/strong> in Minneapolis, Minnesota in September. For our family, this is a great place for visiting, too, as I grew up in the Twin Cities metro area, and we still have lots of family and friends there.<\/p>\n

So not only will my daughter<\/a> and I be able to learn great stuff<\/strong> about writing, meet lots of writers (and maybe a few agents and editors), but we will also hopefully get some professional feedback on all of our hard work.<\/p>\n

If you are an aspiring writer<\/strong> and have never been to a conference, I would encourage you to attend once you get your book into presentable form. Randy Ingermanson has lots of good advice on this topic at his blog, so take a look here<\/a> and here<\/a>!<\/p>\n
