{"id":6301,"date":"2008-02-23T01:06:29","date_gmt":"2008-02-23T07:06:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epictales.org\/treskillard\/2008\/02\/23\/two_major_milestones_reached\/"},"modified":"2008-02-23T01:06:29","modified_gmt":"2008-02-23T07:06:29","slug":"two_major_milestones_reached","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.epictales.org\/treskillard\/2008\/02\/23\/two_major_milestones_reached\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Major Milestones Reached!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Two days ago I finished Part 2 of my book<\/strong> (around page 270), and have begun writing Part 3, the last and most exciting part that will end with a big finish somewhere about page 400.<\/p>\n<p><center><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/epictales.org\/images\/robert\/PendragonSpiral.jpg?w=1200\" alt=\"The Merlin Spiral\" title=\"The Merlin Spiral\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p><strong>Not that Part 2 was anything to ho-hum about<\/strong>, as I try very hard to make each scene have enough action, tension, and suspense to keep the pages turning.  The mini-climax at the end of Part 2 (chapter 25) was very challenging to write, and was a good test of my skills and how well I will handle the end of the book.  After some great vetting by my family and my Senior Editor (my wife!), I was able to smooth out a few rough spots and come away with one of the more spectacular chapters in the book.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also, I have just passed the 100,000 word mark<\/strong>, which kind of blows me away.  How long would it take to count up to 100,000?  Would I even make it?  Yes, I have now written (and re-written) 1\/10th of a million words.
