Although not exactly werewolves, but rather &#8220;<strong>dog-heads<\/strong>&#8220;, which are human type creatures with the heads of dogs, or wolves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is highly interesting to me<\/strong>, because I have my third book planned out in great detail, and in it, King Arthur fights a werewolf!  This means that I may be able to lean on actual legends rather than just my pure imagination for this particular novel.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, if you want to read more about this, <strong>check out these articles<\/strong>.  I&#8217;m still researching, so this is still a bit scanty.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Werewolf\">Werewolves in Wikipedia<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cynocephaly\">Dog Heads in Wikipedia<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wulver\">The Wulver in the Shetland Isles<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Historia_Brittonum#Arthur.27s_battles\">King Arthur fights Dog-Heads at The Shore of the River Tribruit (Edinburgh)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The last one is the most interesting, because it <strong>directly relates to King Arthur<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Merlins-Nightmare-Merlin-Spiral-The\/dp\/0310735092\/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1373598664&amp;sr=8-5&amp;keywords=merlin%27s+nightmare\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"goright\"  src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.epictales.org\/images\/Robert\/MN%20Cover%20From%20Amazon.JPG?w=200\" \/><\/a>I am following up on some more leads from this article, but a very fascinating fact came out:  <strong>&#8220;Kentigern&#8221; is possibly from the word *Cunotigernos, meaning &#8220;Wolf-lord&#8221;<\/strong>.  The St. Kentigern of legend actually plays a part in my book, but he must <strong>earn<\/strong> his title!  <\/p>\n<p>And so maybe he figures more prominently into book three than I had envisioned.<\/p>\n<p>To see the actual text of King Arthur fighting werewolves, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.epictales.org\/treskillard\/2008\/12\/06\/more_on_king_arthur_and_werewolves\">read my follow-up post over here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>UPDATE &#8211; July 2014<\/h3>\n<p>Book 3, which I mentioned above, is now named <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Merlins-Nightmare-Merlin-Spiral-The\/dp\/0310735092\/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1373598664&amp;sr=8-5&amp;keywords=merlin%27s+nightmare\">MERLIN&#8217;S NIGHTMARE<\/a><\/strong>, and was published on May 13th, 2014.
