I want to make known to all my Missouri and Illinois blog readers a festival that celebrates the reformation. It is Providence Church’s<\/a><\/strong> Reformation Day Faire<\/a><\/strong>, held the weekend of October 23rd and 24th (2009) near Peoria, Illinois.<\/p>\n

The festival this year celebrates the work of God in and through John Calvin.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/div>\n

The keynote speaker will be Douglas Bond<\/a><\/strong>, author of the Crown & Covenant<\/a><\/strong> series, as well as a new fiction book called “The Betrayal: A Novel on John Calvin<\/a><\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

In addition, two pastors will be speaking: James McDonald<\/a><\/strong> from Providence Church<\/a><\/strong>, and Marcus Serven<\/a><\/strong> from Covenant Family Church<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The faire will also feature famed Celtic musician Charlie Zahm<\/a><\/strong>, who will be performing both days.<\/p>\n

So come and visit, and dress in a modest period costume!<\/strong> There will be great teaching, highland games, a boffer war, historical dancing, and psalm singing. <\/p>\n

\"Reformation<\/div>\n

The St. Andrews Olde Towne Square<\/strong> will feature candle making, printing, book binding, an armory, stained glass, soap making, woodworking, sketching, and weaving.<\/p>\n

We’ll be there on Saturday<\/strong>, God willing, and so prick your ears for my son playing his bagpipe. We might even be performing a few songs as our entire band, who knows?<\/p>\n

A good time for one and all!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
